The map has no grid. The units moves freely across the map. They represent a company or a battalion.
Objectives are of different type : secure a crossing, deny it to the ennemy, hold some map location, enventually for a given amount of time.

Historical context

September 1944, the allies planned a daring operation in order to rapidly gain control of major bridges across the rivers Meuse, Waal and the Rhine. The objective was to cross the Rhine and turn right to Germany. “Home by Chrismas !” they said. It happened to be “A bridge too far”. RDoA simulates the third of the battles for the bridges, the most important and terrific one : the Battle of Arnhem. The British airborne troops encountered much more resistance than expected and the scheduled reinforcements were late. Can you beat the historical odds ?
