D-Day and the battle for Normandy

Normandy campaign map

This map gives an impression of the expansion of the Normandy beachhead from D-Day untill the closing of the Falaise pocket.

The area depicted in Gold-Juno-Sword is outlined in yellow. Notice that only roughly half of the strategic map was liberated during june 1944.
